GARNETT — Work continues on the Prairie Spirit Trail bridge that crosses Pottawatomie Creek north of Garnett. However, the bridge work is still weeks away from completion, said trail manager Trent McCowen. He told the Anderson County Review he had hoped to have the trail reopened at the bridge by Labor Bay but this summer’s series of rain storms has delayed work on the bridge. The bridge was washed away two years ago when the Pottawatomie Creek flooded in July 2007. It took the state several months to scrape up the money for repairs and the work started last year.
