TTAWA — A nine-year-old Ottawa boy was shot by a plastic pellet from an Sirsoft gun Wednesday. Ottawa police say the suspect is a 33-year-old man who is the boy’s stepfather. Lt. Adam Weingartner said police were told the man shot the boy after he accidentally hit the step-father with the Airsoft gun first. Weingartner said the pellet left a welt on the child’s arm but required no medical attention. The case will likely be referred to Ottawa Municipal Court and the SRS.
