OTTAWA — A public hearing about a rezoning request for Ninth and Main will be tonight at 7 at the city commission meeting at city hall. A developer wants to rezone the northwest corner of the intersection to allow a video store and other retail space. It’s the second and final time the rezoning goes before the commissioners. The Ottawa Planning Commission voted 4-3 to recommend the rezoning. The city staff has recommended against. Neighbors have submitted a protest petition against the rezoning. Because of the protest petition, the city commissioners have to approve the rezoning on a 4-1 vote.
