OTTAWA — Why stand in line when you can go on-line? County appraiser Phil Dudley said a new computer program should cut the number of steps and the amount of time you take to pay your tag fees and taxes. The program draws data straight from state databases in Topeka and allows taxpayers to compute their own taxes on-line ahead of time, he said. County treasurer Debbie Hough’s employees can use the program to get information on vehicles from the appraiser’s office, which means taxpayers won’t have stand in line long or go three flights upstairs, he said. When the program is running, you’ll be able to access it at the county’s Web site.
