OTTAWA — It’s a long and winding road to a short, well-paved Montana Road. The county seeks to pave a quarter-mile of Montana Road that is gravel between the Ottawa city limits and the new U.S. 59 expressway. When it’s paved that part of Montana will be the main entrance to the Davis Road industrial park. County administrator Lisa Johnson said the county has bought most of the right-of-way needed to widen the road and is negotiating for the rest. However, it’s not likely that construction on the road will begin until next spring, she said.
