OVERLAND PARK — An Ottawa couple is in Overland Park Regional Medical Center today as a result of a late Saturday night motorcycle accident. The Kansas Highway Patrol said 44-year-old Joseph Bonner was driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on K-33 just north of Pawnee Road when two deer ran onto the road in front of him. Troopers said Bonner swerved to avoid them but went into the ditch and he and Deborah Bonner, 45, were thrown from the bike. Deborah Bonner was flown by helicopter to Overland Park. She is in critical condition in the hospital’s intensive care unit. Joseph Bonner was taken by Franklin County EMS ambulance to the hospital. He is listed in stable condition. Troopers said neither was wearing a helmet.
