TOPEKA – Gov. Mark Parkinson has appointed a former Ottawa University student to a state board. Misty Van Nostrand was named to the Coordinating Council on Early Childhood Developmental Services. Van Nostrand is a patient advocate for Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. The council recommends new policies or improvements for services for preschool children who at risk for disabling conditions and for their families.
