PAOLA — For Paola Middle Xchool, the colors are black and gold. For Ottawa Middle School, the colors are red, white and black. But when the Panthers and Whirlwinds play football this afternoon, Ottawa’s color will be pink. Ottawa middle school principal Carmen Shaffer said that the Ottawa football team will wear pink socks to express their support for efforts to fight breast cancer. The students came up with the idea themselves, she said. A donation bucket will be at the game, she said.
