GARNETT — Officials at the Anderson County Health Department are doing their best to slow down the flu bug this season. The health department’s Teri Vaughn and Janice Steedley have held several clinics in area schools and nursing homes to educate and vaccinate against the flu. Vaughn told the Anderson County Review that the department has used its first round of more than 300 seasonal flu vaccinations. She hopes Anderson County will get more soon. Although H1N1 swine flu hasn’t been confirmed in Anderson County, Vaughn said she’s sure that it is in the county. However, she says residents shouldn’t panic.
