OTTAWA – More than 350 third graders will visit the Sylvester Farm today to learn about farming for the 17th annual Day on the Farm. Chairman Jarrod Sterling said that the event includes 10 different stations about various aspects of local and Kansas farming. A Day on the Farm is a cooperative effort that includes area high school FFA and Future Business Leader of America members, local government officials and farm experts. Sterling said he’s glad that despite budget troubles, schools are willing to bring students to the Day on the Farm. He said he’s also thankful that Sylvester Farm is willing to host the event each year.
