OSAWATOMIE — Osawatomie Mayor Phil Dudley has been named the Kansas Mayor of the Year by the Kansas Mayors Association. He said the award is due more to the council, city officials and the community. He said the was recognized not only for its efforts to recover from devastating floods but other community projects such as sewer rehabilitation project and the Woodland Hills senior housing project, which made Osawatomie the first city in the nation to complete a project using economic stimulus funds. Dudley received the award during this week’s League of Kansas Muncipalities meeting in Topeka.
