OTTAWA — At Wednesday night’s meeting, the Ottawa City Commission formally declared this week as Fire Prevention Week. Ottawa Fire Chief Jeff Carner said that his firefighters will put on more than a hundred fire-prevention talks during this month. Ottawa’s fire prevention program is among one of the best in the state, he said. The program has received strong community support, he said.
