OTTAWA — The county commissioners decided to cancel their road trip than be tripped up by the road. County administrator Lisa Johnson urged commissioners to scrub their trip to see a minimum-maintenance road near Lane because the area received more than four inches of rain late last week and would be impassable. She said the trip could be postponed for a week. Public works director Jim Haag had a map and photos of the road handy so commissioners took a few steps rather than ride several miles. One of the property owners along the 4300 block of Ellis road wants to close the road but another owner is opposed.
