OTTAWA — The county has signed a deal with Martin Marietta that will give the county more space to expand Montana Road but will allow the company to quarry on both sides of the road. County administrator Lisa Johnson said that the company has an agreement with a landowner to quarry on the east side of Montana Road. The company is looking at a conveyor system that would move rock under the road, she said. The county plans to improve Montana Road between Sand Creek Road and the U.S. 59 interchange north of Ottawa.
