TOPEKA — The death of a 48 year-old woman from southwestern Kansas has been confirmed as the eighth H1N1 swine flu death. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment said the woman had other medical conditions that put her at greater risk for complications from swine flu. The KDHE and Franklin County health director Midge Ransom said you should take steps to protect yourself and others, including frequent hand-washing, staying home if you’re sick and staying away from sick people. Franklin County has received a third batch of vaccines today, she said.
