OSAWATOMIE — The Osawatomie Fire Department has received a $4,800 grant from the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Pparks for a new Scuba team. The city and Miami County Rural Fire District No. 1 will match the grant. The grant will provide enough Scuba equipment for the fire department and Miami County water rescue to begin diver operations and will improve the department’s water and night rescues. The Overland Park Police Department will provide training for the firefighters.
