OTTAWA — The Franklin County Health Department has received 200 doses of H1N1 swine flu vaccine in nasal mist form. Health director Midge Ransom wants to give the vaccines to children between the ages of 2 and 5 on Thursday evening.
The vaccination clinic will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the commission chambers in the Franklin County Annex. She said to qualify, the children should be healthy, with no underlying medical conditions; not had the seasonal flu mist or another live virus vaccine within the last 30 days; have not had a reaction to influenza vaccine in the past nor an allergy to eggs, not had a fever in the last 24 hours and are not on aspirin therapy.
