OSAWATOMIE — Hannah Wastlund of Osawatomie celebrated her 15th birthday Wednesday. Hannah had a genetic liver disorder and survived when she received a liver transplant when she was 11. Her family told the Osawatomie Journal that she prays every day for the family whose son was the donor for her liver. After the transplant,t she grew 12 inches. Ironically, she also picked up an allergy to walnuts and pecans but that’s fine with her. The family believes the donor had an allergy to peanuts.
