OTTAWA — The Ottawa City Commission placed a rezoning request for land immediately outside of northwest Ottawa on their Nov. 4 meeeting agenda. The Ottawa Planning Commission has been converting county zoning categories to city categories in what is called the urban growth zone outside the city. City manager Richard Nienstedt said the rezoning work is part of a deal with Franklin County in which the city handles the responsibility for most of the planning and regulation of the urban growth area. The city planners will look at more properties north of Ottawa when they meet at noon Wednesday.
