OTTAWA — The Ottawa City Commission will issue a proclamation honoring Veterans Day during the city’s Nov. 4 meeting. Ottawa’s Veterans Day celebration will be Nov. 7. City manager Richard Nienstedt said city officials will present the proclamation at the opening of the Healing Fields flag display Nov. 6. Nienstedt, who will be guest speaker, said the celebration is designed to honor the sacrifice of veterans. Nov. 7 events include a parade downtown, historic re-enactors in Forest Park, living history and a USO show.
