OTTAWA — The Ottawa Chamber of Commerce said a local merchant was passed a counterfeit $100 bill. The chamber said if you have any doubts about the authenticity of any bill, hold it up to a light and look for the security strip and the silhouette of the president that is on the denomination of the currency you are accepting. If you need more information on the authenticity of any denomination of currency, call your local bank or the police department, the chamber said.
