OTTAWA — Ottawa police are asking for your help in solving a vandalism spree that has broken several windows. Over the last three weeks, several businesses in Ottawa have been damaged by vandals who are shooting out windows with a slingshot or a similar device. The businesses have receive extensive damage and financial losses, police said. The incidents are mostly occurring on or next to main traffic routes in the downtown area, 23rd Street and U.S. 59 and along Main Street north of the river. The latest incidents occurred Tuesday night between sunset and midnight, police said. If you have information about these incidents, please call the Ottawa Police Department at 242-1700 and ask to speak with an officer. You can also call Franklin County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-311-TIPS. If your call to Crime Stoppers results in an arrest, you could be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 and you can remain anonymous.
