OTTAWA — How many turkeys does it take to feed a thousand people? Ottawa school food service director Marcia Servatius has the answer: 30 turkeys and 30 hams, plus associated mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and other goodies and they were done for Thursday’s Ottawa Middle School community Thanksgiving dinner at the high school. She said that she and her staff weren’t fazed by the preparations – they’re used to feeding that many people each school day.
