OTTAWA — The city has been asked by the developers of the Love’s Travel Center to set up a new transportation development district. The idea, which is new to Ottawa, would allow a special sales tax in the district at I-35 and U.S.-59 to be used to pay costs of running utilities to the travel center. City manager Richard Nienstedt says the city commission will vote on the proposal when they meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at city hall.
