OTTAWA — The Franklin County Planning Commission could look at updating the county’s rules on mobile homes next month. County planner Larry Walrod said the county hasn’t updated its rules since the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban development wrote them nearly 35 years ago. He says that as a result some people are bringing outdated, unsafe mobile homes into the county to live. Surrounding counties have updated rules and Walrod said he’s concerned the county could become a dumping ground for old trailers.
