OTTAWA — Allegre and Briscoe pharmacies will be sold to Walgreen’s. Bill Allegre said he made the decision to sell reluctantly, saying when he looked at falling Medicare and Medicaid payments and his balance books, he believed he had little choice but to agree to the deal. The deal could be completed as early as next week. He says Walgreen’s will buy the patient lists and the prescription drugs. Allegre said he’ll move items from Briscoe’s and sell the remaining merchandise and over-the-counter drugs at the Allegre Pharmacy over the next three weeks or so. He said he’ll close the historic soda fountain and offer the building for sale.
