WASHINGTON — The U.S. Census Bureau is out with some predictions and facts and figures for the new year. The people at the Census Bureau are gearing up to do a new U.S. head count — in the meantime — they project a U.S. population of 308.4 million on New Year’s Day. That’s an increase of over 2 million people since the start of 2009. And in 2010, one birth is expected to take place every eight seconds while officials say there will be one death every 12 seconds.
