OTTAWA — The newest hot trend in Ottawa storage: Shipping containers. City planning and codes director Wynndee Lee threw some cold water on the idea during Wednesday’s meeting of the Ottawa Planning Commission. In business areas, containers are OK, she said. But containers parked permanently in residential areas are a no-go zone, she said. It’s trendy for people who are moving to park small containers and pack items in them as part of a move and Lee see that’s OK – as long as they aren’t parked there too long.
