IOLA – Lt. Col. Roger Murdock will become commander of the Kansas Army National Guard’s 891st Engineer Battalion in a ceremony at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Iola High School gymnasium. The battalion is based in Iola and is the parent unit for the Garnett National Guard unit. He’ll take over from Lt. Col. Barry Manley who has been battalion commander for nearly four years.
