WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg may have resolved this week’s water problem. Williamsburg city council member Gene Hirt said a rural water district that supplies Williamsburg has fixed a leak in a water main that had caused the city’s water tower to drain. Hirt said the city water tower is now filling. Fixing the problem means that Williamsburg School, which had been closed this week, may resume classes on Wednesday. City and school officials had been discussing the water situation on a day-to-day basis and the school had been closed because of concerns about fire protection. Hirt said the city has received a federal grant to overhaul the city water system but the contractor must wait on warmer weather to begin work.
