TOPEKA — Money matters always rank near the top of the list of priorities, whether you’re talking about a family or state government. But state Sen. Pat Apple, R-Louisburg, said the budget crisis facing Kansas is unlike anything he’s ever seen. Apple said the governor’s proposal for tax increases is not getting much support so far. All legislators can do is work through the dire budget crisis the best they can, he said.
