OSAWATOMIE — When Oswatomie resident Larry Oldham’s kidney problems became a life-threatening crisis, his three daughters Mary, Jodie and Kristy each offered one of their kidneys for a transplant. The Oswatomie Journal reports that doctors decided that his youngest daughter Kristy would be the best match for a kidney transplant. The transplant will be Wednesday in Kansas City. Oldham said he’s grateful to his three daughters and especially to 34-year-old Kristy who lives in Hillsdale. He said that she jokes that he shouldn’t expect a Christmas present this year. Oldham is a retired state employee who worked at Osawatomie State Hospital and at the Kansas Department of Transportation office at Ottawa.
