TOPEKA — The Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services is accepting applications for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program beginning today through March 31. LIEAP helps qualifying households pay heating bills. Individuals with disabilities, elderly persons, and families with children are the primary groups who receive the help. Qualifications are based on the federal poverty level and applicants must show they’ve been paying their utility bills.
