OTTAWA — Those who showed at Mon night’s Ottawa City Commission study session wanted to give them something – and it wasn’t what for. Local Boy and Cub Scouts gave an American flag to the commission and opened the meeting. The ceremony is part of Boy Scout Week, which is next month, and to mark the 100th anniversary of Scouting in America. City manager Richard Nienstedt said several city employees have been involved as Scouts or Scout leaders and it’s a good program and prepares young men for life.
