PRINCETON — Although they’ve largely retired, Leo and Mary Wiederholt, Princeton, still are active in preserving their land — as well as running a few cattle and baling hay. The Wiederholts will be among those honored at the Franklin County Conservation District annual meeting Thursday night with the Bankers Award for good conservation practices. He said he doesn’t need to be told that good soil conservation practices work. After building a series of terraces, water ways and a cattle-watering station, there’s been a dramatic change in the storm water running into a neighboring creek – with very little of the mud and debris that used to get into the stream, he said..
