OTTAWA — You can end hunger in the community while filling your bowl with soup Friday night. It’s part of the Empty Bowls fundraiser for area social agencies and which will be at the Ottawa High School Cyclone room from 5 to 7 Friday night. Students, teachers and local artists made the bowls to be sold and used for the soup supper, Ottawa student Anna Stone said. Many of the bowls are autographed by dignitaries including Gov. Mark Parkinson. Last year, the Empty Bowls supper and a silent auction raised $1,800, she said. She said there will be another silent auction this year. Tickets are $10 and are available at the door or Peoples Bank or Kansas State Bank.
