OTTAWA — The Freedom’s Frontier National Heritage Area will receive a $12,000 state tourism grant. The grant will be used to expand the web site that will link the two-state, 41-county region, Deb Barker, Franklin County Historical Society executive director and member of the Freedom’s Frontier group. The Web site will allow anyone interested in John Brown, Indian removal, civil rights and agriculture to find whatever site in the region deals with the issue. Freedom’s Frontier has also picked up a Missouri state grant and is waiting approval from the National Park Service to get federal grants.
