OTTAWA — A group of concerned parents have called a meeting for tonight at 6:30 in the Cyclone Room at Ottawa High School to discuss proposed school budget cuts. Ottawa school superintendent Dean Katt said the meeting was called by parents but he’ll attend to discuss the school budget with them. More citizens are becoming alarmed by the continuing cuts to schools and social services. Katt said he’s afraid legislators will wait until the last minute before deciding whether to make more cuts or raise revenues. Schools and social agencies need to know fairly early what they’ll need to do for next year’s budgets, he said.
