GARNETT — Last year was 11 inches above average in the amount of precipitation, but this year is already shaping up to be another wet year. State climatologist Mary Knapp told the Anderson County Review that December, January and February are typically the driest months of the year because colder temperatures tend to dry out the atmosphere. The last December belied that, she said. And if you think January and February have been wet, Knapp said that historically, February and March have more snowfalls than December and January and she’s not expecting that to be different this year.
