OTTAWA — A Franklin County jury began deliberating on the case of Levi Houston this afternoon. Houston has been charged with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated battery, aggravated intimidation of a witness and other charges in connection with an argument with his long-time girlfriend. In her final argument this morning, assistant county attorney Catherine DiCena said Houston sought to maintain power and control over his girlfriend through violence and intimidation. In his final argument, defense attorney Frederick Meier said that Houston’s girlfriend had made the charges in a fit of anger and recanted her statements. That was a reference to the woman’s testimony against Houston earlier but that she now wants to stop the case and had to be forced to testify this week.
