OTTAWA — Ottawa students are getting their chance to weigh in on possible budget cuts to their activities. High school student Zach George presented the results to school board members earlier this week. Ottawa superintendent Dean Katt says the student survey covered several topics and provided some good information for USD 290 officials. Among the results, most students said they would go to another school if Ottawa eliminated sports and extracurricular activities to save costs. A majority also said they would be willing to “pay to play” to the tune of $10 to $20 per activity, the survey said. The student survey results and comments from the public will be considered by the school board and administrators, Katt said.
