POMONA — A 5-year old rural Pomona boy was transported to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City in critical condition after being accidentally run over by a hay swather. Gage Flager was riding a small motorcycle when his father began backing up the swather and one of the tires hit Flager and ran over him. He suffered a compound fracture of the arm and complained of abdominal pain. The accident occurred late yesterday afternoon on the family farm in the 33-hundred block of Georgia Road. An air ambulance transported Flager to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City directly from the scene.
