OTTAWA — For a couple from Blue Earth, Minn., a visit to Kansas ended up with bright orange. A Franklin County deputy pulled over their car Friday evening because of a defective headlight. As he talked to the driver, the deputy became suspicious and he and another officer searched the car. The sheriff’s office said they found nearly two pounds of marijuana in the trunk and other evidence of drug use and paraphernalia throughout the car. 41-year-old Bennie Lemley, Jr., and 25-year-old Mandie Johnson reached their destination, in this case, the Franklin County jail.
