TOPEKA — Baldwin City business owner and state senator Tom Holland said he’s running for governor. Holland, former state representative for northern Franklin County, announced his plans this afternoon at Topeka. Although there’s another Democrat in the race, Herb West of Paola; Holland will be the most likely Democrat to face Republican U.S. Sen. Sam Grownback. In his announcement, Holland said he decided to run to prevent what he called Brownback’s “failed Washington politics and divisive agenda.” Holland said he learned to be a problem-solver as part of running his business, Holland technologies.
