LAWRENCE — Public health experts from South Africa and Douglas County will be part of a panel discussion on the global impact of HIV and AIDS Tuesday night at 7 at Kansas University. The discussion called “Gender and HIV/AIS: Global and Local Perspectives” will be at Alderson Auditorium in the Kansas Union. The two South African speakers are from Idasa, the Institute for Democracy. Kondwani Chirambo is the head of the Governance and AIDS Programme, and Marietjie Oelofsen is the head of the communication unit. The third panelist, Olivia Burchett, is the educational and outreach coordinator for the Douglas County AIDS Project.
