OTTAWA — The Topeka office of the National Weather Service is beginning its annual severe storm spotter training and there will be two training sessions in the area Thursday night. One is in Franklin County at 6:30 at Celebration Hall at the fairgrounds in Ottawa. In Osage County at 7 p.m., there will be a storm spotter school in the commons area of Santa Fe Trail High School near Overbrook. Franklin County emergency management director Alan Radcliffe said the sessions are open to the public and are a useful preparation for the spring severe weather season.
