POMONA — Pomona residents will get a chance to weigh in about the long-running battle between Mayor Joann Hancock and the Pomona City Council. Polls will be open from 7 to 7 Tuesday at the Pomona City Hall, said Franklin County Clerk Shari Perry:
Seven people filed for the three council seats, requiring Tuesday’s primary. The list of candidates include Hancock’s husband Rex and Richard Adler, the mayor who was narrowly unseated by Joanne Hancock last year. Other candidates for the three seats include two incumbents, Don Lockaby and Mary Whitaker. Hancock is suing the council after they reinstated the city’s zoning administrator, who was suspended by Hancock. Other candidates are Walter Cunningham, Rick Smith and Jerry Slaven.
