KINCAID — A group wants to turn the abandoned Kincaid school building into a commun|ity center. Kincaid High School graduate Ann Donaldson saidthe building is owned by an out-of-state man who bought it in hopes of starting a business but changed his mind. Donaldson told the Anderson County rRview that the owner has offered to give the building to the city for as a tax write-off. She said the city could move its offices and the nutrition site to the building. The group thinks a library and a community room could be created in the school building. However, Kincaid city clerk Lisa Vencel said the city can’t afford the insurance and upkeep on the building. The group will try to convince the city to accept the building when the council meets tonight.
