LAWRENCE–The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a sobrity check lane tomorrow night from 11 pm to 2 am Sunday morning. The check lane targets impaired drivers and monitors compliance with all Kansas traffic laws. The sobriety check lane is part of the Impaired Driving Deterrence Program, the result of a partnership of local law enforcement agencies and the Kansas Traffic Safety Resource Office. Their goal is to reduce the number of deaths, injuries, and the economic cost resulting from motor vehicle crashes in Kansas.
