GARNETT–The walnut harvest is proving to be a disappointment in Anderson County. Clayton Collins of Collins Farms says with only 2 weeks left in the harvest, he has only collected about 37,000 pounds of walnuts. A normal year he collects about 100,000 pounds. Collins Farms collects walnuts from people in the area and pays them $11.00 per 100 pounds after hulling. The farm is only one of six walnut collection sites in Kansas.
